National Geographic Traveller (UK) writers celebrated at the 2019 AITO Awards
National Geographic Traveller (UK) writers brought home three prizes at yesterday’s Awards, including in-house assistant editor, Tamsin Wressell, who won the prestigious Young Travel Writer of the Year Award. The award celebrates travel writing talent for the under-30s, and Tamsin won this for her report.
Separately, Adrian Phillips brought home the Travel of the Year (Over 1,500 words) Award for his piece, while Emma Gregg won the Travel Writer of the Year (Under 1,500 words) Award for her article — the two most hotly contested awards.
The AITO Awards have celebrated talent within the travel writing sector for the past 23 years. The 2019 winners, selected from almost 300 entries across five categories, were announced during the AITO’s annual Meets the Media event at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel.
Congratulations to the winners!
