Food by National Geographic Traveller (UK) scoops the Guild of Food Writers Award 2024
91 is thrilled to announce that Food by National Geographic Traveller (UK) has won the Food Magazine or Section Award at the Guild of Food Writers Awards 2024.
It’s the second time the title has triumphed in this category, having claimed the same award in 2021. The magazine is currently enjoying its best ever year in terms of accolades, with recently appointed editor Nicola Trup winning best deputy editor in the BSME Talent Awards earlier this month; former editor Glen Mutel being named BSME’s Editor of the Year – Food & Drink in December; and associate editor Farida Zeynalova and senior editor Sarah Barrell triumphing, respectively, in the Specialist Travel Writer and Feature of the Year categories of the 2024 TravMedia Awards.
Glen Mutel, managing editor of National Geographic Traveller (UK), said: “As a food and travel magazine we have a foot in two sectors — and excelling in both simultaneously isn’t easy. But this year we’ve won travel awards, food awards and national awards, so it feels like we’re doing something right. And the Guild’s awards are the pinnacle for a food publication, so it’s great to have won it again.”
As part of one the world’s most iconic brands, Food by National Geographic Traveller has carved a niche as a food and travel magazine with a difference. Launched in 2018, the quarterly title celebrates gastronomy from across the world, with a focus on culinary trends, provenance and producers.
The Guild of Food Writers Awards ceremony was held at the Royal Institution in London on the 12 June. For a full list of winners,
