Call for entries: Win a photographic commission for National Geographic Traveller
natgeotraveller.co.uk/photo-competition-2018
LONDON (12 September 2017) — National Geographic Traveller’s Photography Competition 2018, in association with Billingham, is now open for entries.
In a bid to find the best talent, this prestigious annual competition invites photographers and videographers of all levels, from across the UK and Ireland, to submit their travel images or videos taken in the past year in one of six diverse categories.
The Grand-prize winner will be sent on a wild bear photography trip to the Carpathian Mountains; the Portfolio winner will experience a twin-centre break in Qatar; and the Single-shot and Video winners will receive a Billingham bag. Selected entrants will also be included as part of a global press and media campaign, and featured on the National Geographic Traveller website.
Pat Riddell, editor of National Geographic Traveller (UK), said: “We’re looking for images that have National Geographic Traveller’s defining characteristics – they must capture curiosity, tell a story and inspire readers to explore. This is an incredible opportunity for new talent to win a commission and be published in one of the world’s best travel magazines.â€
This year, entrants have a host of categories to choose from:
Single-shot
A single shot on one of four different themes: Action, Nature, People, Urban.
Portfolio
For professional photographers – four shots must be submitted based on the same subject/theme.
Video
A YouTube/Vimeo link to an edited clip that’s a maximum of two minutes long.
As long as the image is travel-based, the subject matter can be anything of your choosing.
Entries should be submitted by 9 December.
